Apprenticeships

curve-down

At a crossroads about what to do next? Then why not consider an apprenticeship with AESSEAL?

As an apprenticeship champion, AESSEAL® is proud to offer an alternative to the typical pathways of further and higher education. AESSEAL® understands the importance of learning through experience, and as such, we have identified a range of apprenticeships to grow our own future employees and contribute to the future operating environment within manufacturing and engineering.

From engineering to business administration and everything in between, as one of the Nation’s Top apprenticeship providers, we offer diverse opportunities to enable you to advance in your career through a variety of career options. We currently work in partnership with the AMRC (https://www.amrc.co.uk/), the RNN Group (https://www.rnngroup.co.uk/), The Source (https://thesourceacademy.co.uk/), Whyy Change? (https://www.whyychange.com/), Learning Unlimited (https://www.learningunlimiteduk.com/), and other apprentice training providers to find the best pathway for you to achieve your goal.

If selected for an apprenticeship with us, you’ll start work right away while concurrently beginning your apprenticeship journey. Furthermore, we guarantee you a permanent role during and after you have successfully completed your apprenticeship. Once you have passed your initial apprenticeship, should the opportunity arise to move to other departments or progress with your current role, we empower our employees to do so where the need requires. In some cases, additional continuing professional development may be provided to support these opportunities. Either way, once your initial apprenticeship is complete, we’ll encourage you to aim higher while working collaboratively with you to make time for further, continual professional development within the business.

Many of our apprentices have gone on to complete higher education qualifications and have progressed in their careers within the AESSEAL® Group. In some instances, this has included international travel and relocation to other AESSEAL® sites in the UK and abroad.

Apprenticeships top 100

Since 2017, AESSEAL has hired over 230 apprentices, with a retention rate of 72% beyond initial apprenticeship period. We are now accepting applications for our 2023 apprentice cohort. In addition to the traditional engineering and business administration apprenticeships, we are offering new and diverse opportunities for 35 apprenticeships in 2023. These include Bid and Proposal administrators in the Commercial space, Electronics in Engineering, and our first Landscape Gardener. Overall, we provide 20 different career paths within our company.

We recognize the importance of laying a strong foundation for developing future talent and succession planning within our business.

As one of the Department of Education's Top 100 apprentice employers, our commitment to apprenticeships remains unwavering. We guarantee a permanent role at the beginning and end of the apprenticeship, and we provide a trained workplace coach and mentor to support the learners throughout their journey.

To ensure that our apprentices feel motivated and engaged in contributing to our business and the evolving operating environment, we have reviewed and improved our apprentice offer and salary to make it more competitive. We have also revamped the career paths for UK apprentices.

Furthermore, our Learning and Development department actively participates in regional and nationwide activities to nurture the best talent available to us. We engage in events such as regional and national apprentice awards, local career fairs, and community engagement activities. As proud members of the Department of Education's Apprentice Ambassador Network, AESSEAL consistently promotes apprenticeships as a credible alternative to further and higher education, providing trainees with the opportunity to earn while they learn.
