Sustainability

This document outlines our approach to a number of social issues, including our impact on Society, the Environment, Supplier, Partner and Employee relations and interactions with customers. These guidelines provide a platform for benchmarking, improvement, innovation and learning, while directly championing the needs of the environment, society and the economy.

Environmental Impact

Through better systems technology we enable companies worldwide to save 95 billion litres (25 Billion US Gallons) of water every year: saving them money and significantly reducing the amount of industrial waste water – one of the main causes of water pollution in the world:

AESSEAL® is committed to the implementation of an Energy Management policy in accordance with ISO 50001, find out more by reading our Energy Policy.

Conservation

AESSEAL® is dedicated to preserving and improving the environment, through better sealing technology and conservation work such as our Wetlands project. Opened in 2005 at the AESSEAL® Global Technology Centre in Rotherham, UK, the Wetlands provide a sanctuary for wildlife as well as a sustainable urban drainage system.

Charity

AESSEAL plc holds some of the largest charitable funds managed by the South Yorkshire Community Foundation with assets of £1.8 million ((US$2.3m). These funds are investments for the future with the capital being preserved and over £100,000 (US$125,000) was paid in donations to local charities in 2021 and 2022. A new fund, The AESSEAL Lieutenancy fund was launched in 2022 with £500,000 ((US$628,000) paid in five annual instalments.

In addition, AESSEAL plc and the majority shareholder in AES Engineering Ltd contributed charitable or community donations of £2.6 million ((US$3.3m) in 2021 and 2022.

None of the Group International charitable/community giving is included. The most active International Initiative is the South African based, volunteer only, AESSEAL Charitable Trust Pty Ltd, which concentrates on putting libraries into under-funded schools. We also work with the international charity WaterAid, to help transform lives by improving access to safe water, hygiene and sanitation in the world's poorest communities.

AESSEAL and AES Engineering Managing Director, Chris Rea said:

It is a privilege to be able to give. Traditionally this part of our activity has had a low profile but we understand that staff and customers want to know more about it. This information is provided since part of being a responsible business is the requirement to report.
